I'm totally commenting on your cheater post. Are you planning on watching the Olympics this year? I'm so torn. I LOVE the Olympics, but I feel like I shouldn't watch because of the way that Russia is treating its LGBT citizens. Not that not watching will change that, but maybe in some small way it would make the Olympic Committee realize that they should have moved the Olympics? I'm not sure.
I feel so torn! I will most likely watch the games no matter what. I feel the athletes should not be punished (and neither should we) for Russia's ridiculous and hateful policies. And yet I know that money talks, and eyes on the TV = money. I imagine we will learn of ways to address the issues locally, and I am hopeful that our US coverage team takes it as a great opportunity to educate our viewers about the importance of equality!
